Find out how Melissa got on during her second week of the #trysomethingactive challenge and join in by sharing your photos on social media…
This week I did a self defence class. I didn’t know what to expect but I can honestly say that it was one of the best classes I have done. I learnt a new skill and the instructor also taught us some tips on how to keep safe in war torn countries.
They taught us to defend ourselves if someone tried to grab us, attack us with a knife or strangle us. Quite horrible things to “plan” for but in this day and age, its better to be safe than sorry.
It was a free introductory course organised by Amvigo, a travel company that connects people. The class was held in the Cockpit theatre, London as it was hired out for the event. The company is called Personal Safety London (http://www.personalsafetylondonuk.com/).
My friends and I are planning to go back to them and do a more advanced class in the new year.
In the meantime, I feel more confident in protecting myself as I know how to kick ass now. 😉
